The other Tabletop Deathmatch Games June 20 2014, 0 Comments

Have you heard about some of the other Tabletop Deathmatch games and how they're doing? Most of them are headed for the printer if they're not available already.

Penny Press - These guys had the other winning design and they chose to publish through Asmadi Games. They have a Kickstarter going on right now for what looks to be an incredible game (I pledged already). The mechanics sound intriguing and the theme is definitely unique. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

The Shadow Over Westminster - Probably my favorite Deathmatch game, it's been picked up by Zenion Games. It's a semi-cooperative deck-builder with a board and a theme incorporating every evil, horrific thing you've ever heard of. It's endlessly rich with details and has really innovative mechanics that provide more player autonomy than is typical with co-op games. The Kickstarter has some really cool backer levels with painted minis. This game looks utterly fantastic now, I can't wait to play it.

Jupiter Deep - It's been published by Twilight Creations (usually known for their Zombie-themed games) under the new name Jupiter Rescue. Its a cooperative in the vein of Forbidden Desert or Pandemic with its own unique atmosphere. It has a ton of minifigs and is probably available right now at your FLGS. Go buy it!

The Amberden Affair - A pick up and deliver game with an inspired traitor mechanic. It's already in production, but not quite available yet. Check out their LIVE EVENT at Gen Con Kickstarter. There's still time to get in on the action or pick up a copy for a reduced price. I'll be there.

Pack the Pack - This game has had an overhaul for the better since Deathmatch. The overlapping card/tile mechanic has been replaced with domino-shaped tiles with some really impressive graphic design enhancements. It's up on Kickstarter right now and they could use a lot of love.

I'll update this more when I find out about the others.
